Diabetes insipidus or water diabetes is a disorder related to the deficiency of the antidiuretic hormone (vasopressin) or a resistance of the kidney to the hormone receptors, causing polyuria (excretion of large amounts of very dilute urine) and as a result polydipsia (increased thirst sensation to replenish excess water lost through urination).


Is caused by an alteration of the pituitary and characterized by polyuria without the presence of glucose.

Cause symptoms such as increased urinary excretion at night Nocturia, or involuntary excretion urine during sleep, also called "bedwetting" enuresis.
